When Manchester United beat Crystal Palace at the MCG in Melbourne in July, there was no sign of Alejandro Garnacho.

The teenage winger with so much talent had been left out of the squad as punishment for missing two team meetings as Erik ten Hag stamped his authority on the squad.

In fact, Garnacho didn't play once in the four games on tour in Bangkok and Australia, only appearing for the first time under Ten Hag in the final pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford.
