Emmanuel Adebayor has been left stranded in Benin after leaving Paraguay to be with his family in Togo amid the coronavirus crisis.

The former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham striker left the South American nation – where he is currently playing his football – to return to his homeland but got held up in Cotonou.

Because of the stop over, he will now have to be isolated in a hotel for 15 days along with 84 other passengers.

Adebayor initially flew to Paris and then went on another plane to Benin, which borders Togo – the nation he has represented 87 times at international level.
