Eberechi Eze, James Maddison and Callum Wilson are among the outsiders still in contention to make England’s World Cup squad.

Gareth Southgate selects his 26-man party for Qatar a week tomorrow. It will be whittled down from an original list of 55 names that was submitted to FIFA last month.

Attacking midfielders Eze of Crystal Palace and Maddison of Leicester, Newcastle striker Wilson, Brighton defender Lewis Dunk and Chelsea centre back Trevoh Chalobah are among the names on Southgate’s initial list, along with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Danny Welbeck.
