Palace academy midfielder Will Donkin featured in Chinese Taipei's opening two games in the East Asian Championships, which is currently taking place in his homeland.
In his nation's first group game against Hong Kong on Sunday, Donkin came on in the 56th minute with the game goalless, and after his side fell behind and then equalised with nine minutes to go, a late Chung Wai Keung strike clinched victory for Hong Kong.
However, the hosts bounced back with a 2-1 win over Mongolia two days later with Donkin again appearing from the bench, this time in the 72nd minute, by which time all the scoring had been done.
