Crystal Palace sign Alexander Sorloth for £9m in nick of time but fail to push through Ibrahim Amadou deal as Lille pull the plug at the 11th hour

Crystal Palace have sealed a £9million deal for FC Midtjylland striker Alexander Sorloth in the nick of time on transfer deadline day in what was a frantic 24 hours at Selhurst Park.

The 22-year-old arrives to sharpen up Roy Hodgson's options in attack and with a growing reputation in Scandinavian football.

He has clocked up 15 goals and provided nine assists in 26 games for the Danish side this season and has been handed the No 9 shirt in south London to suggest he will take a key slot in the Palace squad.
