New Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce could make Motherwell striker Louis Moult his first signing.
Palace are believed to be lining up a £500,000 bid for the forward, who is also being tracked by Cardiff, Derby, Rotherham and Burton after banging in 11 goals in 18 appearances this season.
Moult, 24, came through the academy at his hometown club Stoke.
He made his Premier League debut at 18 but was released after just one appearance and dropped into non-League with Nuneaton, Halifax and Wrexham, also working as a builder's labourer to help pay the bills.
