Crystal Palace's traumatic season lurched into crisis after a fan was arrested after invading the pitch and confronting defender Damien Delaney during the team's 4-0 defeat by Sunderland at Selhurst Park.
Following a humiliating defeat that leaves Palace 19th in the Premier League table, manager Sam Allardyce also apologised to supporters for his team's performance and accused his side of being 'mentally fragile' after failing to win at home once again.
Palace were 4-0 down inside 45 minutes after an appalling first-half performance. As the players exited the pitch to a chorus of deafening boos, a supporter broke the ranks of stewards and attempted to target Delaney.
