Crystal Palace co-owner Steve Parish warns Newcastle will have to pay 'superstar money' to sign England star Marc Guehi after Magpies submitted new £55m bid

Crystal Palace co-owner Steve Parish has warned Newcastle that they will need to pay 'superstar money' to land Eagles defender Marc Guehi, while adding that 'nobody has got to the valuation yet' for the centre back.

The England defender, 24, is thought to be Eddie Howe's preferred central defensive target ahead of the new season.

And Mail Sport understands that Newcastle have tabled a third bid for Guehi of £55million - which could rise to £60m if certain payment add-ons are achieved.

This paper revealed on Friday that Howe's side had seen their second offer, believed to be around £48m plus add-ons, rejected by the Eagles, with Parish and Newcastle sporting director Paul Mitchell negotiatiating over the transfer.
