Crystal Palace's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday wasn't a bad performance, but it was another losing one thanks to basic defensive errors. While City have so much more quality, that was matched in work rate by Palace.
Positives
The drubbing that home fans expected didn't materialise and Palace kept themselves in the game for most of the 90 minutes. Yohan Cabaye, Wilfried Zaha and Jason Puncheon all played a positive role.
Negatives
Defensive errors. City's first goal came from them taking advantage of Palace trying to be too clever, while the second came from a complete lack of organisation in the build-up to a corner.
