Christian Eriksen was given a standing ovation when he was introduced to Brentford supporters ahead of their match with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The 29-year-old has been out of action since he collapsed to the ground with a heart problem during Denmark's opening game of last summer's European Championships against Finland.
He was able to make a full recovery from the incident, but it still appeared doubtful that he would ever be seen on a football pitch again, and he agreed to terminate his contract with Inter Milan back in December.
