Chelsea activate Michael Olise's £35m release clause with Crystal Palace winger and Romeo Lavia's £50m deals to take Todd Boehly's spending close to £1BILLION in 14 months

Chelsea are set to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace after activating the forward's £35million release clause.

Olise will become Chelsea's 12fth signing of the summer with the final touches also being applied to Roméo Lavia's move from Southampton.

Olise, who has also been considered by Manchester City, is expected to be out until the end of September as he recovers from the torn hamstring he suffered playing for France U21s in June.

Palace were not happy with Chelsea's approach, but the clause left them vulnerable as manager Roy Hodgson readily admitted earlier this month.
