Bristol City 4-1 Crystal Palace: Roy Hodgson gets a grim glimpse of life in the Championship as Premier League's bottom side humbled at Ashton Gate

Crystal Palace were given an unwelcome glimpse of how difficult life may be in the Championship next season as they were thrashed by early play-off hopefuls Bristol City in the Carabao Cup.

Bakary Sako appeared to give the Premier League's bottom side a route into the quarter-finals with an early goal, but a packed Ashton Gate spurred their side on to take the lead before half-time.

Goals from Matt Taylor and first-half substitute Milan Djuric were followed by second-half strikes from Joe Bryan and Callum O'Dowda to give Roy Hodgson plenty of food for thought.
