Brighton have made a formal request for their meeting with Crystal Palace on Thursday, March 16 to be brought forward 24 hours in order to avoid another clash with a rail strike.
The game was previously postponed due to another strike back in September after talks with police and safety authorities.
The Premier League are expected to make a decision on the matter at the start of next week.
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Selhurst park last weekend.
10 points separate the clubs in the top flight with Brighton flying high in sixth with 35 points.
