Brighton and Crystal Palace are already in talks with Sussex Police concerning their FA Cup clash after it was surprisingly moved to a Monday night for TV.
It comes after fan trouble marred their Premier League match last month as two stewards were taken to hospital following clashes outside of the Amex Stadium.
Brighton released a statement after the 0-0 draw, accusing some Palace supporters of being 'intent on causing disorder' as they also set off smoke bombs inside.
Sussex Police are now involved in talks with both clubs ahead of their third-round tie on January 8, to be shown live on BT Sport and with a 7.
