Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Crystal Palace: League One side force replay in FA Cup third round as wait goes on for Sam Allardyce's first win as Eagles boss

He may have fond memories of his time at Bolton Wanderers but Sam Allardyce will not be relishing the prospect of seeing them again as his return ended in an FA Cup stalemate.

After complaining of fatigue following a hectic festive period, a replay is the last thing the new Crystal Palace manager wanted - but that is what he has after an even game of many chances somehow ended goalless.

In the build up to his return, Allardyce had cited a lack of investment as the reason behind Bolton's struggles since his departure.

That may have raised eyebrows at a club that, at the last count, was losing £800,000 a month.
