Arsenal are considering a £35million move for Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha as they attempt to line up a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
The Gunners seem consigned to losing their Chilean forward, either when his contract expires next summer or in a deal in January.
However, according to The Sun, Arsene Wenger has started to plan for life without Sanchez and has singled out Zaha as the ideal replacement.
The 25-year-old played in Crystal Palace's defeat to Huddersfield on the opening day of the Premier League season but was then ruled out for the next six matches with a knee injury.
