Alan Pardew believes Andre Marriner should not have been allowed to referee Crystal Palace’s defeat by Liverpool after suffering a series of perceived injustices.
The Palace boss publicly questioned the decision of referees’ chief Mike Riley with Marriner handed the responsibility of overseeing his team’s clashes with Liverpool twice in the space of almost nine months.
In March, Pardew’s team were undone with a stoppage-time penalty won in controversial circumstances by Christian Benteke for a foul by Damien Delaney and the manager thought there were three similar incidents that went in the away team’s favour on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
