CAYCE, S.C. -- Top-seeded and 70th-ranked DePaul swept the Creighton women's tennis team, 4-0, in the quarterfinal round of the BIG EAST Championships in Cayce, S.C., on Friday morning.
The loss eliminates Creighton (9-9) from title contention, though the team will compete for a final time this spring on Saturday in an 11:30 a.m. CST match.
DePaul (12-7) won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to claim the early point.
The Blue Demons also picked up victories at No. 5, No. 1 and No. 3 singles to pick up the victory.
