OMAHA, Neb. -- Bolstered by a second half penalty kick goal from sophomore , the Creighton Women's Soccer team posted a 1-0 senior day shutout win over Kansas City to close out non-conference play on Sunday, Sept. 15.
With the senior day victory, the Bluejays improved their overall record to 3-2-1 while the Roos dropped their first match of the season, falling to 5-1-3 overall.
The first period began with defense from both squads to complete the half at a 0-0 score. Several scoring opportunities were presented to the Bluejays during the opening 45 minutes but resulted in near misses and three saves credited to Kansas City goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing.
