Women’s Soccer Falls to UConn, 2-0, Ending Season in BIG EAST Quarterfinals

OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton women's soccer team ended its season, falling to Connecticut, 2-0, on Sunday, Nov. 3 in the BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals.

The loss ended the Jays' 2024 season at 8-7-2, while the fifth-seeded Huskies moved to 11-4-4 on the season and advances to play top-seeded Georgetown in the BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals next week in Boyds, Md.

Both of UConn's goals came in the opening 45 minutes as the Huskies controlled possession and closed the opening period with a 6-4 advantage in shots.

The Huskies pulled ahead in the 10 minute (9:26) when Lucy Cappadona headed home her third goal of the season after a free kick from Anna Carson deflected off the far post to give UConn a 1-0 lead.
