OMAHA, Neb. - Driven by late second half goal from Anja Jestrovic, Creighton women's soccer seized a 1-0 victory in BIG EAST battle with the Providence Friars on Sunday, Oct. 13.
The victory lifts the Bluejays to 6-5-1 overall with a 3-3-0 mark in BIG EAST play, while Providence dropped to 5-7-1 overall and 2-3-0 in league match ups.
Creighton soared out of the gates to begin the contest, firing six shots including a near miss from senior Azumi Manriki that struck the crossbar from 25 yards out to keep the match even in the opening 15 minutes.
