In a rematch against the Red Storm, the Jays (13-8, 7-4 Big East) came out victorious, 53-39, in a game where they dominated every quarter except the second. Creighton held St. John’s (12-10, 5-6 Big East) to 25.9 percent shooting from the field and 15.4 percent from 3-point range. The Jays also outrebounded the Red Storm 39-34, dished out 16 assists to St. John’s six and ended up with three more blocks.
Early on, it looked like early on that the Bluejays might run away with the game, building a 17-7 lead in the first quarter, but the Red Storm responded by holding the Jays to one field goal in the second quarter, taking a 22-20 lead into halftime.
