HARDEEVILLE, S.C. -- Defending league champion Katherine Lemke was one of just eight golfers to break 80 on the opening day of the BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships Presented by JEEP on Monday in Hardeeville, S.C. Lemke shot 79 to help Creighton to fifth place in the team standings after 18 holes.
Lemke led all players with four birdies on Monday en route to a 79 that leaves her in a tie for sixth place. The sophomore from Geneva, Ill., sits just five shots behind Xavier's Emma McMyler, one of two players that she defeated in a playoff last year to earn medalist honors.
