OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton women's basketball team improved to 5-0 in conference play for the first time since 2004-05 with a 62-45 victory over visiting Marquette on Friday, Jan. 7.
Creighton (10-3, 5-0 BIG EAST) matched last year's win total with the victory, while Marquette fell to 9-4 (2-2 BIG EAST).
Creighton led 13-11 after a first quarter that featured six lead changes and five ties. The Bluejay bench scored CU's final nine points of the quarter after Tatum Rembao opened the game with back-to-back lay-ups.
Creighton used a 10-2 run to end the second quarter to take a 27-23 lead into the intermission, paced by seven points in the quarter from Lauren Jensen.
