Omaha, Neb. -- The 2020-21 season began in typical Bluejay style on Wednesday, September 29th as members of the Creighton women's basketball team brought screamed for head coach Jim Flanery as he entered the Ruth Scott Training Center. Flan responded his playfully shocked look, then proceeded to dance in celebration as his team offered him balloons to celebrate the beginning of his 20th season as head coach.
After a few moments of joyous laughter, the team got down to work with stretching and loosening up for practice.
Building upon the shortened 2019-20 season that saw Creighton close the season in the WNIT, the Bluejays won three of their final five to reach the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament as well as the second round of the WNIT.
