OMAHA, Neb. -- Temi Carda had 24 points and Jaylyn Agnew added 18 points and 10 rebounds, but three free throws by DePaul in the final 6.4 seconds were the difference as the No. 16 Blue Demons escaped D.J. Sokol Arena with a 74-71 win on Sunday, Jan. 5.
DePaul improved to 13-2 and took over sole possession of first place with a 3-0 BIG EAST record, while Creighton dropped to 11-4 and 3-1 in league play after suffering its first loss in six home games this season.
Creighton never trailed in the first quarter, starting the game with three-pointers on three of its first four possessions to quickly take an 9-5 lead.
