INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- A career-night from Butler's Austin Etherington helped lead the host Bulldogs to a 88-75 win over visiting Creighton before 7,330 fans at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Tuesday night in Indianapolis. Etherington scored 17 points, including four three-pointers, in the victory, well above his season aveage of 2.4 points per game.
Creighton had its three-game win streak snapped and drops to 17-10 overall and 8-6 in the BIG EAST. Butler won the fourth time in five tries and upped its record to 18-8, including a 7-7 BIG EAST mark. The teams have split a pair of regular-season meetings this winter.
