LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Taryn Kloth had a career-high 25 kills but it wasn't enough as No. 13 Creighton lost a five-set marathon match at No. 10 USC on Sunday night.
The contest took 3:04 to complete, the longest match in school history by time, and saw USC win by scores of 28-26, 23-25, 25-22, 21-25, 18-16.
USC survived three set points to take the opening frame, 28-26. The Bluejays trailed for much of the set, but used a pair of clutch Taryn Kloth kills to move ahead 24-23. CU had chances to 24-23, 25-24 and 26-25 to take a 1-0 lead, only to be turned back each time.
