OMAHA, Neb. -- Ty-Shon Alexander has signed a letter-of-intent to join the nationally-ranked Creighton men's basketball program beginning next fall.
Alexander, a 6-foot-4 guard from Charlotte, N.C., stars for Oak Hill (Va.) Academy. He averaged 13.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last year for a team that went 45-1 and won the DICK'S Sporting Goods High School Nationals at Madison Square Garden. That team was ranked second in the final USA Today Super 25 Boys Basketball rankings.
Alexander shot 49.3 percent from the field and 42.4 percent behind the arc for coach Steve Smith's program, which has churned out NBA All-Stars such as Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo and Carmelo Anthony over the years, among others.
