STORRS, Conn. -- An 18-4 run spanning halftime by No. 1 UConn was too much to overcome as the Huskies defeated No. 18 Creighton, 62-48, before a sold out crowd at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.
Connecticut improved to 16-2 (6-1 BIG EAST) while picking up just its second win in eight all-time meetings against Creighton (13-5, 4-3 BIG EAST).
The return of preseason All-American Donovan Clingan provided a spark for the Huskies, who unleashed an 11-2 run in his first 2:36 on the floor to force a Bluejay timeout after UConn's lead grew to 23-14.
