CONWAY, S.C. – Sophomore walk-off two-run home run in the eighth inning lifted the Creighton softball team past Purdue Fort Wayne, 4-3, on Sunday morning in the finale of the Kickin' Chicken Classic in Conway, S.C.
With the win, Creighton improved to 3-2 on the year, while Purdue Fort Wayne dropped to 1-4 overall.
Potter, who finished the game with just the one hit and two RBI, delivered the late inning heroics and became the first Bluejays to hit a walk-off home run since vs. Abilene Christian on Feb. 13, 2022.
After a scoreless first inning, Purdue Fort Wayne dented the scoreboard first when Alexa Carter lined an RBI double into the right center field gap to give the Mastadon's a 1-0 lead.
