OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton men's soccer's Sven Koenig earned a spot on the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Men's Soccer First Team, as selected by CoSIDA, the organization announced on Thursday morning.
Koenig is the first player from the men's soccer program to earn Academic All-America honors since Fabian Herbers and Vincent Keller in 2015. Koenig is also the Bluejays' third First Team Academic All-American, joining Herbers (2015) and Brain Holt (2011).
The Westhofen, Germany native claims a 4.0 GPA while studying finance. A recent United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team selection, Koenig tallied a BIG EAST-best 10 goals during the 2018 season.
