OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton softball team fell, 8-0, to Butler in five innings on Saturday at the Creighton Sports Complex.
The Bluejays dropped their BIG EAST record to 5-10 and moved to 17-19 overall, while the Bulldogs improved to 3-8 during league play and 15-27 overall.
All eight of Butler's runs were unearned and scored with two outs in an inning.
The Bulldogs scored three in the first inning on a two-out three-run homer and added five more in the second with a RBI double, wild pitch, bases-loaded walk and two-RBI single.
Ashley Cantu led off Creighton's half of the first with a single to left-center and advanced to third base on a sacrifice bunt.
