OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton softball team had its eight-game winning streak snapped with a 2-0 loss to Providence on Sunday afternoon in the regular-season finale at the CU Sports Complex.
The loss drops the Bluejays to 33-20 on the year and 16-8 in BIG EAST play, claiming the No. 3 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament, while Providence ended their season with a 22-23-1 overall record.
Bluejay starting pitcher allowed just four hits, two earned runs and struck out five during the complete game loss, dropping her overall record to 24-6.
At the plate, Creighton recorded four hits and three walks, but left seven runners on base, including four runners in scoring position.
