OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton softball team fell to Butler, 10-2, in the series opener on Friday afternoon at the Creighton Sports Complex.
The loss drops the Bluejays to 13-20 on the year and 0-7 in BIG EAST play, while Butler improved to 13-19 overall and 7-0 in league action.
After holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the first two innings, Butler erupted for four runs on just two hits and two Bluejay errors in the top of the third inning to take a 4-0 lead. A solo home run by Paige Dorsett opened the scoring, while a wild pitch and an errant throw allowed two addition runs to score.
