OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton softball team dropped a 2-1 pitcher's duel to Omaha on Wednesday night at the Maverick's home facility, Connie Claussen Field.
The Bluejays fall to 13-15 on the season with the loss, while the Mavericks improved to 14-8.
Creighton jumped out to an early one-run advantage after a half inning of play as the Bluejays used a pair of hits and a pair of walks to push across the first run of the game. Junior Cayla Nielsen and freshman Lily West opened the frame with back-to-back singles before a sacrifice bunt by Madeline Vejvoda moved runners to second and third.
