OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton softball team hit a single-game school record six home runs, including a walk-off, during the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against UMKC at the Creighton Sports Complex. The Bluejays defeated the Kangaroos 13-12 in the second game of the day following a come-from-behind 5-4 win during the opening game of the day.
Creighton improved to 19-12, while UMKC fell to 10-33.
Hope Moreno delivered the walk-off dramatics with a home run over the left-center field wall on the second pitch of the bottom of the seventh inning. The long ball marked the Bluejays' sixth of the game, which broke a previous program single-game high for home runs of five that had been accomplished four times (last on April 13, 2013 at Indiana State).
