OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Softball won its fourth straight game as Kiele Miller authored a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in a 3-0 win over Butler in game one of Friday's BIG EAST doubleheader.
Creighton scored the game's first run in the fourth inning thanks to a pair of Butler errors. Ashley Cantu reached second on a dropped fly ball and later came around to score when Jayci Foster's sacrifice bunt was thrown away.
The Jays plated two insurance runs in the sixth inning against Butler ace Alyssa Graves. Sam Alm notched CU's first hit of the day with a double to left-center, was bunted to third by Cantu, and scored on a squeeze bunt by Foster.
