NEW YORK (Aug. 27, 2024) – Creighton's Malvika Shukla and Marcos Gonzalez have been named recipients of the 2023-24 BIG EAST Institutional Female and Male Scholar-Athlete Awards. The selection were made by the Conference's Academic Affairs Committee. Each institutional winner receives $2,000 toward graduate studies, with the BIG EAST's overall Female and Male Scholar-Athletes of the Year each earning $4,000.
Shukla, Creighton's 2023-24 Carl M. Reinert, S.J. Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, wrapped up her four-year tennis career owning a 3.98 cumulative GPA while earning a bachelor's degree in exercise science.
