Seventh-seeded Creighton women's basketball advances to Big East final

The Bluejays victory against the Pirates on Monday marked their third victory in three days at the 2016 Big East Tournament in Chicago.

Creighton (17-16) is the first No. 7 seed to reach the championship game since 2008.

The Bluejays will face fourth-seeded St. John’s at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night. The game will be televised nationally on FS1.

Sophomore guard Jade Owens added 16 points as Creighton won its fourth consecutive game.
