STORRS, Conn. – The Creighton softball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh to pull within a single run but fell 5-4 to UConn on Friday night at Burrill Family Field in Storrs, Conn.
The Bluejays dropped to 4-7 in BIG EAST play and 14-15 overall, while UConn improve to 11-2 during league action and 22-13 on the year.
Creighton opened the scoring in the top of the first as junior launched her sixth home run of the season over the left field wall to give the Bluejays a 1-0.
The Huskies answered with a pair of runs of their own on three hits in the bottom half of the inning to grab a 2-1 lead after one complete inning.
