AMES, Iowa – Behind a pair of second half goals by sophomore and senior , the Creighton women's soccer team rallied for a 2-1 win over Iowa State for their first win of the season and the inaugural Tea Cup on Sunday, Aug. 18 at Cyclone Sports Complex in Ames, Iowa.
With the win, Creighton improved to 1-1-0 on the season as head coach secured his first win as a Bluejay and his first career win over a Power 5 team. Iowa State, however, fell to 1-1-0 with the loss.
Iowa State opened the scoring in the 12 minute of play as the Cyclones drew a foul inside the 18-yard box to earn their first penalty kick of the season.
