Scheierman Selected in First Round by Boston Celtics

BROOKLYN, N.Y.. -- Baylor Scheierman became Creighton's fifth men's basketball player since 2014 to be selected in the NBA Draft on Wednesday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., when the 6-foot-7 guard was drafted in the First Round, No. 30 overall, by the Boston Celtics

Scheierman is the third Creighton product ever drafted by the Celtics franchise, joining Gene Harmon who was picked 107th overall in the sixth round in 1974 and George Morrow, who went 182nd overall in the 8th round in 1981. Among the active players selected 30th overall in the NBA Draft include Desmond Bane (2021), Josh Hart (2017) and Jimmy Butler (2011).
