OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton guard Baylor Scheierman picked up All-America honors for the fourth time this month when The Sporting News voted him as a Third Team All-America on Tuesday.
Scheierman was previously named a Second Team All-American by Field of 68 in addition to Third Team accolades by ESPN.com and College Hoops Today.
Scheierman has starred for Creighton this winter, averaging 18.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. He leads the BIG EAST with 14 double-doubles and is in contention to become the first men's player in the last 20 years to lead a Power 6 Conference in both defensive rebounds (currently 249) and three-pointers made (currently 97, one behind the league leader).
