Omaha, Neb. -- Behind a career-high 25 points from junior Temi Carda, the Creighton women's basketball team delivered a 67-54 road win over Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The win moved the Bluejays to 1-0 on the season, while UNO fell to 0-1.
Carda opened the game with a driving layup that turned into a three-point play, then delivered a trey from the right corner as she scored 14 points in the opening quarter to help the Bluejays build a 23-14 edge after the first period.
The Mavericks closed to within five with back-to-back buckets to open the second quarter, but sophomore Payton Brotzki rattled off consecutive layups to push Creighton out to a 27-18 lead (6:33).
