When Creighton lost in their first game of the Big East Tournament, there was very real concern it had knocked them out of the NIT — and given comments from the staff about not being interested in the CBI, CIT of Vegas 16 — that it had ended their season. Those fears were unfounded, as it turns out, because the Jays not only made the field, they got a home game, and a game against a good power conference opponent to boot.
A year removed from missing the postseason for the first time in almost two decades, Creighton is back in the postseason and continues to regain solid footing in the post-Doug McDermott Era.
