The Creighton men’s basketball team opened the 2018-19 season on Tuesday night with a 78-67 win over a pesky Western Illinois team. The Bluejays had four players in double-figures, while Damien Jefferson grabbed 12 rebounds in his debut in a Creighton uniform.
Martin Krampelj and Mitch Ballock led the way with 13 points each, while Ty-Shon Alexander and Davion Mintz had 12 and 10 points respectively. Balanced scoring for the Jays almost landed three other players with double-figures. A lot of eyes were on the team to see where they would land with a lot of pieces needing to be replaced from last season.
