Basketball was back in full swing on Friday night as the Creighton men’s basketball team tipped off their season against UMKC at CenturyLink Center Omaha. Although it looked like Creighton would run away with the victory, they ended up hanging on for an 89-82 victory.
Marcus Foster led five Bluejays in double figures with 19 points, including four from behind the arc. Maurice Watson, Jr., had 19 points and 9 assists, while Khyri Thomas chipped in 16 points. The frontcourt had great contributions as well with Justin Patton’s debut resulted in some great dunks in the first half and finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Zach Hanson finished the double-figure scoring with 11 points in 11 minutes of play.
