The No. 11 Creighton Bluejays faced off against the No. 20 University of California Trojans on Thursday night to kick off the Creighton Classic, riding the momentum from a strong showing at the Bluejay Invitational and extending their impressive 16-game home win streak.
The sold-out crowd at D.J. Sokol Arena added to the electric atmosphere of a Top 20 matchup, with fans packing the stands and the match being broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.
“We think we have a pretty special atmosphere, our fans have been incredible,” Head Coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth said.
The first set opened up with a dump from setter Kendra Wait to put the Jays up 1-0.
