OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton men's basketball guard Ryan Nembhard has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after helping the Bluejays to a pair of victories to open the season.
Nembhard averaged 13.0 points, 6.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game, making 11-of-20 (55 percent) field goal attempts.
Nembhard (along with senior transfer Ryan Hawkins) became the first Bluejay in more than 40 years to debut with a double-double as he had 15 points, 10 assists and four rebounds vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
